Students today face endless challenges and pressures in their walk with Christ. They need sound Biblical direction - they will find just that with Journey 24/7. They need encouragement, and tools that will show them how to boldly follow Jesus every day, every week, all year round - 24/7. Journey 24-7 is AWANA's high school age young adult program. Journey 24-7 curriculum has it all: relevant 21st-century content, a strong emphasis on life application, thorough apologetics and Scripture memory - invaluable ingredients for character-shaping discipleship. These materials are challenging yet meaningful to seekers, nominal believers and fervent followers of Christ. Young people are given opportunities to put their faith in action by getting involved in service projects and serving their church. One such program plugs youth into assistant leadership roles in younger-age Awana clubs. Students read through 1/4 of the Bible every year. They also participate in a service project for four months. In addition to scripture memorization, students focus study on four main areas:
For any young adult who has completed Truth & Training, Trek 24/7 and Journey 24/7, there are incentives for achievement that may lead to scholarships at a number of top Christian colleges around the country. Journey Preps Bring Home High HonorsDateline Denver, Colorado During the weekend of March 31 through April 2 a dozen Mountain Springs Church Awana Journey students participated in Awana Clubs International's Summit convention in Denver. Several students took high honors in various areas of competition. The MSC team received thirteen gold medals, eight silver medals and one bronze medal. Special Sportsmanship Award to Bible Quiz Team
Awana Clubs International awarded a never before presented Sportsmanship Award to one of MSC's Bible Quiz teams for exceptional conduct after a scoring error resulted in the team missing the final round. Initial scores had the team advancing, but the points error was discovered and the judges awarded the final round slot to another team. The MSC team and their coach received the news with a gracious attitude and cheered on the team chosen in their place. The team was grateful to have done so well. Two days later, during the Awana Games event, the quiz master in the final Bible quiz round talked to one of the many parents that came to cheer on the MSC team. The quiz master proceeded to tell the parent that he had been the quiz master for 15 years at Summit and he had seen a lot of teams win during that time but couldn’t remember their names. He said, "I will never forget the Mountain Springs Team when the ruling changed and they were not to go on to the final round. They displayed a gracious, godly attitude and had great sportsmanship." The Awana club at MSC is not just teaching kids to memorize God’s Word. They desire to help kids live out and display a Christ-like attitude. The MSC team did just that. They are true winners.
